Isaac and Jeremy from Mach3 Engineering tell us how QUICKSTOCK has kept jobs moving and taken the pressure off the day.
Tell us about Mach3
We’re an engineering company based here in Christchurch. Been in business for 18 years now, it’s a family owned business and I”m second generation.
We do work from Invercargill all the way up to Auckland. International projects and jobs, anything from someone walking in from the street that wants a bit of steel, or to large projects across the country. Dairy sheds, building strengthening, architectural engineering.
A big focus at Mach3 is health and safety. We’ve had lots of extensive training in health and safety and it’s something we’re real passionate about.
With that, we’ve also partnered with Satech Italy. Satech is an industry leading modular machining guarding company. We’re the distributor for New Zealand and Australia. With our certified machine safety experts at Mach3, we can help with follow through from auditing all the way through to compliance at your workplaces.
HOW DID YOU MANAGE CONSUMABLE INVENTORY BEFORE QUICKSTOCK?
Before QUICKSTOCK, we didn’t manage our consumables very well.
At the time I was on the floor, so I was working with the guys on the tools. Part of that being we were always out of cutting disks, sanding disks, jobs coming to an end, and were missing things.
And it’s just the pain of stopping, so often it was me that would have to go get it. It would be go get a PO from the office, head out, stop everyone’s time, collect materials, bring them back.
Yeah, it was a bit of a shambles really.
WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO USE QUICKSTOCK?
Why we decided to go to QUICKSTOCK was, Euromarc offered a one stop shop turnkey solution. However, I was not overly convinced at the start. Julian said try, see how it works, you can cancel at any time.
Euromarc was able to fill the cabinets with product that was suitable for our business needs. And the product seemed fair and reasonable.
Now we’ve kind of just forgotten about consumables. What used to be a pain for us around ordering, checking, pricing, making sure stock levels are there, it’s just something we just don’t think about anymore.
It’d be hard to go back once you’ve used it long enough, it’s just so easy to use and everything is done for you, your only job is to get in there, get what you need, and continue on with what you’re doing.

HOW DOES THE QUICKSTOCK SYSTEM WORK FOR YOU?
Our QUICKSTOCK cabinet is located at the front of our workshop.
How it works for us, is it’s always locked, the guys will come see me for the key, grab what they need, and then get back to work, with minimal downtime.
The products in the QUICKSTOCK system, they”re top-notch high quality gear and cost effective.
Jeremy was a big non-believer at the time, but also likes to price check everything, and Euromarc”s products are definitely price competitive but also high quality at the same time.
Definitely do your price checking, we found that the prices are fair.
I know that we are more efficient with our deliverables for our clients needs and requirements. And not be held up by something as minor as a spray can or a special drill or a tap.
WOULD YOU RECOMMEND THE QUICKSTOCK SOLUTION TO OTHER ENGINEERING COMPANIES?
What I like most about QUICKSTOCK, is the reliability of knowing your things are going to be there when you need them. And just know that it’s going to be restocked, so you never have to worry about it empty in there.
